Four years after newly elected President Donald Trump vowed to stop “an American carnage,” insurrectionists rallied by his lies stormed the U.S Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the results of the November elections. On Wednesday, January 6, while Congress prepared its largely ceremonial certification of Joe Biden’s November victory, Trump urged his supporters — many of them flying hate flags — to march up to the Capitol in order to “give our Republicans the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”
